I'm Green Quality Mark
The I'm Green plastic quality mark may only be used if a product is made from 100% sugar cane. The major advantages of bioplastic compared to 'normal' plastic is that bioplastic is made from renewable biomass and does not use fossil fuels.

Production process
Sugar cane stores CO2 gases during the photosynthesis process during its growth, after which the sugar cane is harvested and processed into sugar and ethanol. Bagasse remains as a waste product. The sugar is destined for the food industry. After processing sugar cane into sugar and ethanol, bagasse remains. The waste product bagasse is used to generate green energy. The ethanol is used to produce plastic.
